Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai)

An easy care plant for the brighter parts of your house, or a protected courtyard or balcony. These plants can go into the garden, but leaves may tear with strong wind.

The Nicolai is the large form of the common 'Bird of Paradise'. Nicolai grows to about 6m tall in the wild, and is very hardy and reasonably drought tolerant.  It will take longer to grow If potted indoors, however it extends its leaves to reach for more light.

Let the top 2-3cm of the soil dry out between watering.
