Ficus (Ficus retusa) also known as a Chinese Banyan is a popular choice for bonsai enthusiasts due to adaptability, attractive aerial roots and small leaves.

Ficus bonsai can be grown both indoors and outdoors, but they will require slightly different care. Indoor ficus bonsai will need bright light and might benefit from being moved outdoors during warmer months.
