Sun loving Alacantarea Silver Plum is a slow growing, easy care plant who is just as happy in the garden as in a pot. Silver Plum is one of the few true full sun bromeliads, easily capable of growing in all day direct sun. Keep their "water well" in the middle of the plant filled with water and place in warm sunny position.
One of the most impressive of the large Alcantarea bromeliads. Silver upper-sides of leaves, and dark burgundy red undersides.
Typically grows to around 1m in height. Grows best in a frost free climate and in full sun.
Alcantareas do not have extensive root systems, and they don’t usually require any fertiliser.
